Wilky has completed more than 80 commercial projects – offices, industrial warehousing and retail – ranging in value from £2m –£200m. One of our more recent, significant, development projects was the Aldershot Centre for Health, the UK’s largest primary healthcare centre.
Our ability to bring together and manage specialist teams for complex or sensitive schemes is often the crucial factor in delivering a successful outcome. We specialise in partnerships with public and private sector organisations, where our local knowledge and relationships can be brought into play.
The Group conceived and created the UK’s largest primary healthcare centre as an investment based on Government-guaranteed leases by the NHS and MoD, later taking advantage of favourable market conditions to conclude a successful sale to a major British institution. Adjoining land was retained to enable us to pursue complementary development in the future.
Catering for around 2,700 patients a day, it was developed by Wilky and was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal. Shared by the town’s civilian and military primary health teams – the first time the two had been brought together – the centre accommodates some 30 separate user groups as well as regional administrative headquarters for Care Commissioning, NHS and Ministry of Defence. It houses three doctors’ surgeries together with dental facilities, a pharmacy, X-ray facilities, CT scanning and other diagnostic test facilities, centred on a communal reception area.
